At the same time, the two of them were working on short-term rentals, paying close attention to how people used space, what they valued, and what made a place feel like more than just square footage. “And through Airbnb specifically, we saw a number of tiny houses on wheels, and the thought just kind of came to mind: ‘Hey, we could build that.’ And I think we can build something better.” They didn’t wait long to find out. “We started digging into it… and then started swinging a hammer—and we’ve been at it ever since.”
