Action – Recreation Center, Student Union Building, and S&A Fee Increase Approval
Washington State law requires the governing boards of the institutions of higher education to approve any proposed i ncreases to fees pledged for the payment of bonds or proposed increases to the Services & Activities fee. We are seeking Board approval for the Recreation Center, Student Union Building, and S&A Fee increases effective in Fall 202 6 . These fee increases are necessary to offset the higher cost of operations including staffing costs and general inflation. The various student advisory groups, including the ASCWU have been informed and agree that maintaining current service levels of these three functions is critical. Washington S tate law limits increases to the S&A fee to amounts not to exceed 4% per year. We recommend a quarterly fee increase of $ 10 .00 each for the Recreation Center and Student Union Building and a 4% increase to S&A. The table below shows the academic year increase for each fee type.
