university consideration of a reduced-credit degree (i.e., “three year degree”). They plan to solicit faculty feedback via survey in the upcoming weeks.
• The Evaluation and Assessment Committee is engaged in preparing annual assessments of Faculty Senate and FSEC as well as academic administrators. These confidential surveys provide administration and Senate a sense of faculty concerns. They are also considering changes to the student evaluations of instruction (SEOI) to ensure the assessment tool is relevant for all course modalities. • The Academic Affairs Committee has refined and revised several policies this year to improve university processes and support student success, including policies related to class attendance, faculty engagement in regular and substantive interaction in online courses, AI and academic dishonesty, assignment of student service campus, and student hardship withdrawals. In addition, the committee collaborated closely with the Registrar’s office and the provost’s office to consult on other potential policy changes. • The General Education Committee has reviewed student petitions for general education courses, reviewed Gen Ed assessment reports and new Program Learner Outcomes, provided feedback on the Gen Ed CAT Team process, and consulted on First-Year Experiences. Additionally, the committee worked with the Dean of Undergraduate Studies, the FSEC, ADCO leaders, and departments to ensure waiving the remaining 184 requirement wouldn’t harm departments and, specifically, NTT faculty. The waiving of this requirement will support current students’ ability to graduate. • The Faculty Senate Executive Committee has facilitated Senate committee work by charging committees with tasks and sending FSEC members to each committee as liaisons. We also strengthened the FSEC’s connection with staff representatives and now send an EC liaison to their monthly meetings. We have revised the structure and focus of the Budget and Planning Committee to better align with Values Based Budgeting and practices outlined in the shared governance document. The Budget and Planning Committee is fully populated and ready to restart in the fall. Additionally, the FSEC has assisted with finalizing an updated attendance policy, soliciting feedback about the online education report, and moving policies related to prior learning assessment forward. We will continue working over the summer on academic dishonesty and academic appeals policies,
