RAIN BARREL WORKSHOP Water you mean you have never heard of a rain barrel? Visit the DFNC on Saturday, March 28 to show those April Showers who’s boss and learn the steps needed to create, maintain and use a rain barrel at your home. This workshop will be more fun than a barrel of monkeys! Please note that the program will be in a lecture format and no actual rain barrels will be created. The program may not be suitable for children under 8 years old as it is presented in a lecture format. This program is a rain or shine event. Free Adults & Families DFNC Sat., March 28, 1 p.m. BUG MOTEL WORKSHOP Build it. Place it. Watch themmove in! Join our Park Naturalist on Saturday, May 2 from 1:30 to 3 p.m., to create a bug motel for a variety of Pearland’s native insects. During this workshop we will discuss what bugs will inhabit the motels, and learn proper maintenance and placement while participants create a bug motel to take home. Preregistration is required to reserve bug motel materials. This program is in a lecture format with the use of tools and may not be suitable for children under 8 years old. This program is a rain or shine event. $5 resident / $6.25 non-resident 18+ years DFNC Sat., May 2, 1:30 - 3 p.m. SCOUTING PROGRAM Calling all Scouts! On select Saturdays this spring, the Delores Fenwick Nature Center will offer Scouting workshops that meet a portion of the requirements for the Girl Scout Outdoor Adventurer Badge, Cub Scout Outdoor Activity Award, and the Boy Scout Reptile and Amphibian Study Merit Badge. The program will entail a tour of the Nature Center, small crafts, animal encounters and fun to be had all around. Parents/ Troop Leaders are required to attend with their child/ troop. Please note that registration is only required for participating children and the program will not take place in March. Registration will be completed on the first-come, first-served basis, and troops wanting to attend together should coordinate their registration. Workshop size will be limited to 25 participants and are not guaranteed to be private. This program is a rain or shine event.
