Gas pump rage newsroom@eap.on.ca HAWKESBURY | A Montréal man faces charges following an apparent case of gas pump rage July 4 east of Hawkesbury. Shortly after 7 p.m. Hawkesbury Ontario Provincial Police officers were dispatched to investigate an assault that occurred at the MacEwen gas station situated on County Road 17 in Champlain Township. A 35-year-old woman had allegedly cut in front of a 40-year-old man who was wait- ing to use a pump. The man yelled at the woman. A 20-year-old man, who was fuel- ling up at another pump, intervened ver- bally in order to defend the woman. Police say the agitated man then ran towards the other man, kicking at his vehicle and hitting him. The aggressor then left. The Montréal man, who cannot be named at this time, was charged with assault and mischief. Impaired boating charge July 7, at approximately 6 p.m. while on marine patrol on theOttawa River in Alfred- Plantagenet, Constable Luc Dénommée intercepted a boat for a safety inspection. Patrick Gilles Brennan, 36, of Principale Street in Wendover, was charged with op- erating a vessel with a blood alcohol con- tent exceeding the legal limit and operat- ing a vessel while impaired by drugs. He is to appear in court in L’Orignal August 1. The same day shortly after 2 a.m., of- ficers stopped a black 2005 Jeep Cher- okee on Main Street in Hawkesbury near the Laurier Street intersection. Frédéric Dewar, 20, of Longueuil Street, L’Orignal was charged with impaired driv- ing. He also will appear in court August 1. Assault, mischief charges
