It’s off to the NCJHL semifinals now for the Clarence Creek Castors after they slammed the Gatineau Hull-Volant four games straight in the quarter-finals. The Castors won their fourth and final game against Gatineau 4-3 February 26 on the Volant’s home ice. That moves them on to the semifinal round in the National Capital Junior Hockey League (NCJHL). Patrick Lemay punched in two goals for Clarence Creek with Zack Lugli and Sam Paquette tallying singles. Assisting on the scoring were Lugli, Tyler Baker, Matthew Clifford, Kyle Green, Nathan Melée, and Jonah Peters, with Andrew Larivière guarding the net. The Castors have more reasons to cele- brate the 2018-2019 hockey season with some new additions to their trophy collection. Clarence Creek received the NCJHL East Division Champions title with a final total of 59 points for the club’s win-loss results throughout the regular season. They were also named the Top Defensive Team of the league with 95 goals-against record. Castors Patrick Lemay received the NCJHL’s MVP award and the Best Defensive Forward nomination while goalie Corey Cami- rand earned the NCJHL’s Best Goaltender award. Castors General Manager André Roy was named league Executive of the Year. The Castors have their first semifinals match Friday night against North Dundas.
It’s the end of the season now for St- Isidore in the National Capital Junior Hockey League. The North Dundas Rockets move on to the semifinals after winning the quarter-final series between the two clubs four games to one in the best of seven schedule. The February 28 game in St-Isidore finished 4-2 for the Rockets with two goals from Connor Roth for North Dundas plus singles from Kyle Collette and Brad Nash. Goal assists came from Roth, Justin Lefebvre, and Hugo Lusignan, with Reilly Tondreau guarding the net. Kevin Howson and Ryan Wells scored goals for St-Isidore with assists from Zackary Bougie, Jakob Brunette, Bruno Leclerc, and Xavier Leclerc. Dawson Irving was in the net. The final game at the Chesterville Arena March 1 finished 3-2 for North Dundas, with two goals again from Roth and a single from Colette. Assists came from Matthew Cowley, Tom Fingler, and Jarrett Williams, with Tondreau blocking the net. Scoring for St-Isidore were Howson and Wells again, with assists from Brunette, Tyler Druce, and Bruno Leclerc, with Irving in the net. Jacob Brunette earned himself the Top Scorer honour for his season’s goals tally during the league’s end-of-season awards ceremony. Kevin Howson was named the
