to bed so I can get up the next morning to find out what God has for me to do. I lived in Florida for many years, and I met numerous Christians who retired to Florida and did nothing for the Lord. They may have been busy and active in their churches in the past, but once they retired, they let it all go. These were good people who loved the Lord, but they had not only retired from their vocational work... they also retired from serving and giving to the Lord. I understand that changes happen as we get older; I’ve certainly experienced some difficult challenges along the way. Now that I’m 94 years old, I’ve had to face some limitations. Millie and I can’t do everything we used to do. We don’t get out very much, and when we do, it’s usually to go see the doctor. Compared to the life we used to lead, this is a big change for us. I’ve written this book to encourage you to continue serving the Lord no matter how old you are. It may get harder to be involved as we grow older, but it’s always better to keep serving the Lord. I’m going to share some things the Lord has taught me over the past few years. I hope these lessons give you some encouragement. We all need to keep on going for the Lord until the day He calls us Home. What a great day that will be! Someday soon Jesus will return, and we will meet Him face to face, or we will die and go to be with Him. Either way, we will be with Jesus forever. I’m excited about that because I know that day is not far away. Please accept these words written by an old man who wants to encourage you to keep going, keep fighting, and finish well for the Lord.
