EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS 2 ADVANCEMENTS NEW

Tried-and-true Steps in Building a Successful Melaleuca Business Linux Woo and Suey Soo’s strong ‘WHY’ has been their

to advance to Director in 7 days and Director 3 in 90 days. Linux explains that this is only achievable if the person is committed to doing the right activities, and requires his team to participate in the weekly training sessions he organizes. However, understanding that some of his builders are unable to join the sessions due to their jobs, Linux records the sessions so that they have access to what was taught. “This process of getting the new builders started the right way is a standard system for my business–it allows my team to duplicate this system and build a sustainable Melaleuca business,” Linux explains. Linux also leverages on results-driven programs by Melaleuca such as the Fast Track Trips to motivate his team. “At Convention 2017, when the Hokkaido FTT was announced, I knew it was a good opportunity to help my builders and grow my organization. I made sure I led by example in doing my personal activities by building up my contact list with at least 100 names, adding one new name and making four calls daily,” Linux continues. As a result, he and 5 of his team members qualified for the FTT. In addition, he created an accountability system via WeChat to hold each of them, and himself, accountable. Convention 2017 was an event that Linux found really inspiring as attendees were able to learn from top leaders–from how they overcame challenges, what motivated them to how they developed a thriving and sustainable Melaleuca business. “There were so many success stories, and it was very heartening to hear it all. These are lessons that my builders and I can learn from,” Linux says. “I want to go further in my Melaleuca business, and I know I will be able to do so. By the end of 2017, I’d like to advance to Executive Director 3,” Linux exclaims, saying that if an air-conditioner technician like himself can succeed in this business, anyone can achieve the same if they are hardworking and tenacious. Continuing, he says, “In order for me to reach Executive Director 3, I will need to develop three new Directors 3 and one new Senior Director in my organization.” Linux is very optimistic on this front, and further commits to bringing 30 of his builders to the Taiwan Fast Track Trip in April 2018.

constant guiding light to their recent achievements–advancing to Executive Director 2 status, tripling their residual income in the last 6 months, no more worries about their living expenses and children’s future education fees, and achieving their goal of buying their dream house. “Did I ever think all this was possible? Not if I was still in my previous profession,” confesses Linux, a former air- conditioner technician based in Singapore. A strong yearning to return home from Singapore and be with Suey and their four kids was what ignited Linux’s determination to build a Melaleuca business and see to its success. Although the journey was paved with hurdles and uncertainties, he never gave up nor let it get the better of him. “When the going got tough, I reflect back on my ‘WHY’, and this has been the driving force in keeping me moving forward day by day,” says Linux. Hence, Linux strongly believes that one’s resolve in wanting to build a Melaleuca business and determination to keep moving forward is strongly rooted in their ‘WHY’. “Whenever I conduct a strategy session, there are seven steps that I will go through with my new business builders. The very first step itself is to dig deep into finding out the person’s ‘WHY’,” Linux explains. In addition, he discusses with them about their long-term cooperation and commitment, ensuring both parties reach a mutual and manageable consensus. “Also, knowing that things will not be easy, I lay out the potential challenges and hurdles that may come their way while building the business. The builders need to be mentally prepared,” Linux says, leaving no stones unturned. At his business strategy sessions for new builders, Linux finds it crucial that they comprehend and embody Melaleuca’s value, and embrace its mission of enhancing live. “My business partners need to understand that in order to enroll and retain customers, the first thing we need to do is to help the potential customers understand the value of the brand and products and most importantly, why it is beneficial for them to switch brands. It starts with the business builders embracing this concept and switching brands themselves. Without truly understanding the value of the products, the business will not be sustainable,” Linux says. Then, Linux teaches his builders how to get the ball rolling with their personal activities of adding one new contact and making four calls daily, asking them to create their initial contact list with at least 50 names to start with. “Next, we look at setting goals. Their goals must be realistic in order to be achievable. With their goals written, we then develop a game plan–in terms of income, time management, enrollments, learning and teaming-up,” Linux explains. Linux then takes his new builders through presentation methods, and educates them on the Preferred Customer benefits, the Consumer Direct Marketing™ model, customer retention and the importance of the Value Pack and Home Conversion Pack. “Pack purchases are very important for business builders, because I want them to totally switch brands. When they switch brands, they can easily present about Melaleuca based on their product experiences!” Linux clarifies. He also ensures that he has 1-on-1 sessions with his business builders to develop their skills and enhance knowledge, and only allows his builders to present once they are able to independently do it the right way. To maintain a healthy organization growth, Linux also trains and develops his business builders so that they’re able
