Statutory payments: update and challenges Half day duration

CPD Counts towards

Who is this course aimed at? Experienced payroll practitioners requiring an update on the latest changes in the area of child-related statutory payments and an insight into some of the most frequent issues and trickier challenges faced in day to day practice.

What will I learn? Since April 2015, child-related statutory payments are available for maternity, adoption, paternity and shared parental leave, with some employees remaining entitled to additional paternity leave and pay, too. Practitioners need to understand the latest changes to these provisions, particularly for shared parental leave and pay, which has introduced new procedural steps for handling how entitlement overlaps with other employers. The well-established provisions continue to provide challenges in practice, from handling pay increases to understanding ongoing contractual obligations, and case law concerning interaction with other types of absence. This course helps delegates understand the latest changes and how to handle many of these challenges.
