ALFRED | Les libéraux de l’Ontario sont les seuls qui peuvent s’assurer que le Collège d’Alfred puisse s’épanouir. Voilà le message des quatre candidats libéraux qui avaient, lors d’une conférence de presse lundi au campus, réitéré leur engagement à veiller à ce que le collège demeure ouvert. Les candidats Grant Crack (Glengarry- Prescott-Russell), Madeleine Meilleur (Ottawa-Vanier), Marie France Lalonde (Ot- tawa-Orléans), et Brad Duguid, ministre des Collèges et Universités, ont annoncé qu’ils aillaient travailler avec les parties prenantes pour explorer la possibilité d’une désigna- tion en vertu de la Loi sur les services en français, afin de mieux protéger le Collège d’Alfred. «Notre parti continuera de plaider pour une solution viable à long terme qui profi- tera à la communauté francophone et agri- cole», selon les candidats. QUALITY PROVINCIAL PROGRAMS AND SERVICES Though the newly-elected Provincial Government must manage fiscally and responsibly, reducing government debt over time, RTO/ERO urges the Provincial Government to maintain quality programs and services for all citizens in Ontario, especially our seniors. Issues that should be addressed include: protection and enhancement of pensions, incentives to encourage age-friendly communities, social housing/affordable housing, provision of and support for caregiving for seniors, independent living/ support to stay in own homes, funding/care levels/supervision in resident homes. QUALITY HEALTHCARE/AGING WITH DIGNITY 350&30TVQQPSUTBQVCMJDIFBMUIDBSFTZTUFNUIBUQSPWJEFTDPNQSFIFOTJWFTFS - WJDFTGPSTFOJPST Our members share the view of most Ontarians that the province’s highest priority must continue to be the availability and delivery of quality health care. We believe the provincial government must commit to providing adequately funded programs and services, as well as tax rebates that allow and encourage seniors to age with dignity.
