Helping People Love Their Home Again REPLACING LOW QUALITY, BUILDER-GRADE DOORS

A t Kelly Window and Door, we are for help with a wide variety of problems, and together we work out how we can serve them well and bring their home up to a standard they are thrilled with. In each of the upcoming editions of our newsletter, we will be featuring a client spotlight that shares the story of how we worked alongside a particular client to help achieve their goals for their home. We’d like to start off this series by taking a look at the project we did with Robert and Camille Scutellaro in Cary, NC. Mr. and Mrs. Scutellaro moved to North Carolina into a brand new home in 2018. Prior to closing it was discovered that the front entry door of their new house was the wrong inswing! The door had originally been installed with the hinges on the wrong side. In response to this problem, the builder switched the hinges so that it would swing open in the correct direction. Unfortunately, new issues arose with this. The builder did not replace the door jamb along with the door, and thus the two did not match up as they should. When the door and jamb are not installed together, this can result in poor insulation and faulty operation of the product. The Scutellaros were originally not given the choice of a front door. The issues with the door offered the perfect opportunity to make a change to something lasting and beautiful, with a style to enhance the entry way into their new home. Mr. and Mrs. Scutellaro sought out a reputable company to replace their door, passionate about helping people love their home again. Homeowners come to us

as well as provide added protection for the door and their home. Our installation team efficiently and neatly installed the new doors and jamb, and Mr. and Mrs. Scutellaro loved the final result. The new products are visually appealing and energy efficient, and meet the needs, preferences, and requirements of everyone involved. The house is bright, private and quite elegant! We are thrilled to have yet another happy client who is able to love their home again!

matching the community required color exactly. Through radio ads, online reviews, and stopping a sales representative on the road, they chose Kelly Window and Door. Our sales consultant Bruce Liner discussed the various options with the Scutellaros, and the couple decided on an entry door with a beautiful Symphony glass pattern. This new door fulfilled the local Homeowner Association requirements and matched well with the color scheme of their home. In addition, the Scutellaros purchased a storm door to complement their new entry door

Giving Your Home the Curves It Deserves Increasing Curb Appeal

When visitors come to your home, the first thing they see is the front of your house, which is why curb appeal is so vital. An eye-pleasing exterior can increase the welcoming atmosphere of a home. Curb appeal impacts the way people feel about entering a home and often sets the mood before they take one step through your door. Creating an attraction that draws people in can be accomplished with several easy steps. Here are a few ways you can bring greater curb appeal to your home. DECORATING YOUR DOOR The front door of your home is the key focal point in creating curb appeal. The front of your house will catch people’s eyes, and a fetching entryway will be sure to draw anyone in. If your door needs a new coat of paint, consider choosing a bright, friendly color to give it the pop it needs. Include front door accents to stand out or to accentuate the colors of the rest of the house.

A GATEWAY TO YOUR HOME Adding a gate that opens onto your front lawn can add a lot of personality to your home. Gates and fences can come in many different styles and shapes to fit your home and personality. Whether you choose a white picket fence with a simple gate or an elegant metal gate with a slender fence is up to you. GROWING A GARDEN Growing a beautiful garden in front of your home creates a wonderful feel and adds natural color. Place potted plants along the path or steps

leading to the front door, or build window boxes full of beautiful plants to position beneath the front windows. You can also grow a small garden around your mailbox, which is one of the easiest ways to increase curb appeal. Be sure to include small plants that don’t overwhelm the mailbox and plants that don’t attract too many bees. With the weather warming up, now is the perfect time to work on the curb appeal of your home!

ONE FOR THE AGES HOW SUPER BOWL XXXIV MADE AN ICON OUT OF A GROCERY STORE CLERK

George touchdown runs, and a field goal brought the Titans level at 16–16, with just over two minutes of play remaining. In response, Warner dropped back and found receiver Isaac Bruce for a 73-yard touchdown, bringing the score to 23–16 with 1:54 left on the clock. But the Titans weren’t done fighting. Quickly moving the ball down the field, Titans quarterback Steve McNair found himself with a third and 5 inside the Rams 30-yard line with 22 seconds left. Scrambling around and fighting off two players trying to pull him down, McNair threw the ball to Kevin Dyson at the 10-yard line. A quick timeout left six seconds on the clock, and the Titans were one play away from tying the game. What proceeded was a play that will be forever known as “the tackle.” McNair found Dyson on a quick slant, and when he caught the ball at the 4-yard line, it appeared a touchdown was imminent. Suddenly, linebacker

Going into the 1999 NFL season, no one expected anything from the St. Louis Rams. When starting quarterback Trent Green went down with a gruesome knee injury in the preseason, ESPN The Magazine slated the Rams to be the worst team in the NFL that year. With few options, coach Vermeil named a virtually unknown player as his new starting quarterback, humbly stating in a press conference, “We will rally around Kurt Warner, and we’ll play good football.” Five years before his start, 22-year-old Kurt Warner was stocking shelves at a Hy-Vee grocery store in Cedar Falls, Iowa, for $5.50 an hour. However, he had amassed a whopping 16 snaps in the NFL prior to taking the reins for the 1999 season, and what proceeded to transpire on the field was utter pandemonium, giving the Rams the nickname “The Greatest Show on Turf.” This improbable season and the resulting MVP award for Warner set the stage for one of the most dramatic games in Super Bowl history. After going up 16–0 against the Tennessee Titans in Super Bowl XXXIV, Warner and the Rams looked poised to coast on their way to the Lombardi Trophy, but the late Steve McNair and the Titans had different plans. The Georgia Dome was rocking after two Eddie

Mike Jones wrapped the receiver up at the hips. As he fell to the ground with the ball in his hand, Dyson extended his arm, but when he hit the AstroTurf, he was 1 yard short of the goal line. The Rams had pulled off the impossible, earning their first Super Bowl title ever.
