Head of Enterprise and Engagement The Post Job Title: Head of Enterprise and Engagement Location: Canterbury Reports to: Director of Enterprise and Employability Responsible for: Staff within the Enterprise and Engagement team About the Department: The Department of Enterprise, Employability and Research Development (EE:RD) is located within the Directorate of the Pro-Vice Chancellor (Research and Enterprise). It provides leadership to support the achievement of the University’s strategic goals and KPIs in relation to employability, research and enterprise. The Department comprises four teams, and this post leads the Enterprise and Engagement Team. The Enterprise and Engagement Team is responsible for driving forward external engagement with businesses and other key stakeholders in support of University strategic ambitions for enterprise, income diversification and employment outcomes. This includes promoting the University’s full offer to businesses and stakeholders, including access to our student and graduate talent; promoting the insight, innovation and consultancy services available at the University, and opening up University spaces for business and stakeholder use. The Team also links businesses and stakeholders with our strategic projects and developments, supporting regional growth and the development of longer-term collaboration and partnership. The University’s student employment agency, Unitemps, is also located within the Team, which comprises four managers, two officers and a graduate trainee. Main Purpose of the Role The Head of Enterprise and Engagement will be responsible for leading and managing the promotion of the University’s offer to businesses and stakeholders to support and enhance graduate employment, to develop enterprise outcomes, and to diversify income. This includes a range of income-generating and student enrichment opportunities, for example graduate employment, work experience and volunteering; consultancy, knowledge exchange and innovation projects; and wider enterprise and income diversification activity. The Head of Enterprise and Engagement will also be responsible for the Unitemps franchise and provide assistance with strategic leadership.
