and maintains a high standard of ethics in research. Tenure is only granted to a faculty member at the Associate Professor and Professor levels. Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center serves as the Department of Pediatrics for the College of Medicine. Faculty appointments in the Department of Pediatrics are affiliated faculty appointments within the College of Medicine. Affiliated faculty may receive tenure; however, a tenure designation does not confer a specific or lifetime term of employment. Because the College of Medicine is not the employer of affiliated faculty, the College of Medicine considers tenured affiliated faculty appointments only to mean that as long as the faculty member is employed by the affiliate institution, the faculty member will not be required to submit for reappointment of their faculty title.
