W e have enjoyed another hugely successful Ski Racing season this year, with numerous highlights, and the year-on-year progress we aim for continuing this season. Our first event of the calendar is always the Canada Cup: this year, 29 boys and four staff all thoroughly enjoyed a busy, active and entirely positive 10 days, with superb conditions. The excursions and activities outside of skiing were hugely successful, especially the Dulwich College Curling Championships. We skied the entire time, and enjoyed two days of racing without injury. All boys’ skiing progressed dramatically, culminating in very pleasing levels of silverware. Louis Wright also won a special award, the Dave Gibson Award, for overall contribution to the races, and to the event as a whole. I am also delighted to report that he and his younger brother, Archie, were also selected for the National Schools Skiing Squad, to compete in the BISS Alpine Championships in Italy in February. The Canada Cup serves many purposes, one being its role as a training camp which leads into our annual National Championship endeavours. This year our team of 16 boys and three staff returned from five fantastic days at the British Schoolboys Ski Racing Championships topped by superb training and tailed by fantastic racing with more silverware to revel in. The final event of the 2017-18 season saw us skiing indoors at the ISA National Indoor Ski Championships at the Snow Centre, Hemel Hempstead. On the day, all of our boys skied superbly but there are certain highlights that warrant special mention. Every Dulwich racer finished in the top 25 individually and across the age-groups, with half finishing in the top 10 for their age-groups and three bringing home individual medals. Our teams all finished well, but I am delighted to report that our A-team of Louis Wright, Noah Smith, Conor Burke and Sam Fleming finished in first place and thus were National Champions.
