Vinfen’s Adult Community & Clinical Service Teams provide comprehensive, clinically focused services to people living with long-term mental health and substance use challenges. These teams provide community-based services seven days a week and clinical coverage 24 hours a day. Peer, family, housing, employment and coordination of care services are provided. Description: Interns placed in on an ACCS Team will be involved in clinical case management surrounding housing, referrals to services, employment, or legal issues. An intern would also participate in new enrollments, initial needs assessments and bio-psychosocial assessments. Interns will have a caseload of 3-4 clients whom they meet with weekly or bi-weekly in the community or a Group Living Environment (GLE) setting. Interns will meet twice weekly with the intervention team to participate in treatment planning. A car is not required but preferred for this internship. Candidate Requirements: Intern should be a first-year graduate social work or counseling student . Candidates are expected to exhibit a passion for working with individuals with mental health conditions and will be expected to manage the demands of clinical documentation. Candidates should exhibit strong communications skills, accountability and professional boundaries.
Supervision: Supervision is conducted at these placements by LICSWs and LMHCs with many years of clinical experience.

Vinfen’s Central Street Aggressive Treatment and Relapse Prevention program in Lowell provides housing services to individuals experiencing chronic homelessness who have a dual diagnosis of major mental illness and a co-occurring substance use disorder. ATARP programs are designed to provide intensive clinical outreach services to support clients and their families in the community. Aggressive Treatment & Relapse Prevention Program 366 Central Street, Lowell - 1 opening Description: Interns placed in Vinfen’s ATARP program will receive a complete grounding in clinical and school-based treatment for adults with mental health conditions. Interns will complete assessments and treatment plans, as well as develop necessary skills to complete documentation under supervision of trained clinicians in the program. Interns will work with team members to develop and implement treatment plans for their clients, will regularly attend team meetings, receive training relevant to their work, and receive regular feedback about their clinical practice. A car is required for this internship. Candidate Requirements: Intern is required to be graduate social work/counseling student . Candidates are expected to exhibit a passion for working with individuals with mental health conditions and will be expected to manage the demands of clinical documentation. Candidates should exhibit strong communications skills, accountability and professional boundaries. Supervision: Supervision is conducted at these placements by a licensed clinician with many years professional experience.

Vinfen's Clubhouses empower people with mental health conditions by providing them with a community that is focused on respect and encourages individual choice and contribution. Clubs offer dynamic supports 5-6 days a week combining employment, housing and education services with social activities, life skills, wellness initiatives, arts-based rehab, and advocacy. Description: Interning at one of our Clubhouses means interning on a diverse team of support professionals, nurses and clinicians to ensure each person involved at the Club participates in a meaningful and significant way. As an intern, you will learn hands-on about the daily activities and operations of a Club. You will have the opportunity to co-facilitate group activities, participate in team meetings, and advocate on behalf of the individuals you help support. Candidate Requirements: Candidates should have a strong interest in working with adults with psychiatric challenges. Undergraduate-level candidates in a related field such as human services, psychology, social work, or public health are preferred. The Centers serve as a central point of contact for individuals and their families, providing referral services, information, resources and activities that are dedicated to supporting people with Autism Spectrum Disorder or an intellectual or developmental disability who live at home with their families. Vinfen's Young Adult Access Centers help young people embark on a positive life path into adulthood and toward the goals of personal stability, secure housing, competitive employment, and positive family and social relationships. Young adults ages 16-26 can receive support for housing, education, attend events, and access support for managing their mental health without the need for referral. This position is currently not a paid internship. The Art Connection Studio is an innovative art center and gallery offering opportunities for learning and creative development. It provides specialized vocational programming and community art classes. More than 45 adults participate in the Art Connection Studio programs to explore their artistic talents and find what brings them joy and a feeling of accomplishment. Description: Interning at the Art Connection Studio is a unique experience working in an art- focused space promoting self-discovery, joy and connection to others. Students will learn about the day-to-day of the community art studio, assist with running group activities, and occasionally assist with studio events. Students will get to learn about innovative programs and supports for people with intellectual or developmental disabilities or mental health conditions and will work with these individuals to support and inspire each other. Candidate Requirements: Candidates should have a strong interest in working in social services and must be passionate about art. Vinfen's Vocational Training Center (VVTC) Culinary Internship 860 Prospect Hill Road, Windsor - 1 opening Description: Interning at VVTC you will learn the inner workings of running a full kitchen alongside staff and individuals with intellectual disabilities. This is a fast-paced environment that will teach proper safety techniques and a variety of food preparation techniques. Interns will participate in sanitizing food prep stations, stocking and replenishing products, enforcing safety protocols, and meal planning and preparation. Candidate Requirements: Candidates should have a desire to learn about the social services workforce. Ideal candidates are culinary arts students who are at least 18 years old and have a reliable mode of transportation. Supervision: This intern will be supervised by the Program Director and Chef, and will have the opportunity to learn alongside many support staff.
