Autumn Highlights May 2026 May brought sunshine, laughter, and no shortage of reasons to smile. We kicked off with a visit to the lolly shop that brought back fond memories and a round of the Chicken Dance that had everyone on their feet. Our garden received some extra love too, with a brand-new windmill taking pride of place among the greenery. Throughout the month we kept wonderfully busy. Cooking sessions, knitting circles, afternoon exercise, music therapy, and pool all featured, and it was lovely to see so many of us staying active and connected. One of our dearest residents celebrated her 100th birthday, surrounded by family, staff, and fellow residents. We also marked Breast Cancer Awareness Day, with our ladies baking cupcakes in support of the cause. Mother’s Day was a highlight. We gathered for a high tea, drew our raffles, and spent the day wrapped in warmth and great company. We paused on International Nurses Day to say a heartfelt thank you to our nursing team for everything they do. The month also included a scenic bus trip, a pampering session, a walk to the shops with a stop at a local cafe, and visits from kindy children whose smiles delighted everyone.
