Autumn Highlights

April 2026

We kept busy with knitting, music therapy, morning tea in the cafe, and a fun game of bingo. We also spent time in the garden, enjoying the fresh air and the beautiful autumn surroundings, with some of us even dining outside for a lovely change of scene. We headed out on a community outing to Woolworths, walking together to pick up items for afternoon tea and general groceries. It was a great chance for some gentle exercise, a bit of independence, and plenty of good conversation along the way. The Henny Penny chickens visited and brought enormous joy to everyone. Watching them brought back fond memories for so many of us, and we were sad to see them go off to their new homes. Our Elvis tribute performance was a truly moving occasion. In the middle of the show, the performer dedicated Can’t Help Falling in Love to one of our residents who had passed before she could attend. There was not a dry eye in the room, and one of our residents even got up and sang for us. We also enjoyed a lovely birthday celebration, our ANZAC service with a bagpiper at the Deception Bay RSL, ANZAC biscuit baking with family and staff, a pampering morning, and a bus trip out to the Lookout Cafe for morning tea.
