ECA’s 125th anniversary celebrations included the National Golf Day being held in Northern Ireland for only the third time in its history. More than 60 competitors in teams of six lined up for the event at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Templepatrick on May 21, including members ECA National Golf Day

While regional teams arrived a day early for a practice round before the main event, the course proved challenging, reflected in few scores over 30 points. Dinner and a prize presentation were held in the Kingfisher Suite with host for the evening, BBC Sport reporter Stephen Watson, entertaining the audience with his sharp wit and stories from his travels to the golf majors. The 2027 ECA National Golf Day is scheduled to take place at Hanbury Manor Hotel, organised by the East Region.
