Structured cabling by Crown Industries Stothers M&E enlisted the services of Crown Industries, QUB’s long-standing partner for major network architecture projects to provide the structured cabling services for AMIC. With a 30-year history of delivering services for Queen’s, the Belfast-based company is well acquainted with its guidelines for cabling installations. It proceeded to install more than 1,500 Panduit CAT6A outlets throughout the facility, supported by a comprehensive blown-fibre backbone architecture. John Fulton, Operations Director, says, “Queen’s has been a valued customer of Crown for many years. They insist on the highest standards of installation throughout their estate, which closely mirror those recommendations laid down in BICSI best practice. “It was a genuine pleasure working with Stothers M&E on this project. If I could sum it up in one word: communication. Effective and efficient communication between both parties long before the project even hit site enabled a genuine collaborative approach that worked well for both parties and delivered a truly world-class facility.”
