Layer thumbnail shows a miniature preview of the layer's content and displays information about opacity and blending mode (more on page 145)
Note that a layer's visibility may be affected by visibility of its group or global visibility mode setting.

Layer name You may rename the layer in the layer options
Tap on the thumbnail to make the layer active
Tap on the layer name
to open the layer options pop-up

In compact view the thumbnail also displays the layer visibility icon Tip: This is also a tiny button to toggle visibility without the need to expand the layer panel
