#FortWorthSafe Initiative Begins Department Initiatives

In the spring of 2021, FWPD began the #FortworthSafe initiative. #FortWorthSafe is a crime reduction operation focused on violent crimes such as homicide, robbery, shootings and aggravated assault. #FortWorthsafe includes an enforcement compo- nent as well as a community outreach component that addresses deficiencies that increase the likelihood of violent crime occurring. To learn more about the #FortWorthSafe initiative and view hot spot maps and results, visit the FWPD website at https://police.fortworthtexas.gov/Public/fort - worth - safe.

Community Engagement Events Over the past three months, FWPD held multiple events throughout Fort Worth. Community events were attended by the Chief, Assistant Chiefs, Neighborhood Police Officers (NPO), Patrol Officers, and volunteers. We were so excited to see everyone!

Community Events included: • East Patrol Division Community Snow Cone Pop Up • Central Patrol Division Community Event • South NPOs vehicle display with elementary school students • West Patrol Division Kolaches with a Cop • Northwest Patrol Division Safety Fair • Movie Night with a Cop • METRO and FWPD Community Park Event

Citizens Police Academy

Congratulations to all the FWPD Citizens Police Academy graduates! Citizens Police Academy was held virtually in April. Over a twelve - week period, participants gained insight and learned about the different ways the department operates from training to criminal investigations. New Online Reporting In June, FWPD added two new reports in both English and Spanish to the “ Online Citizen Reporting System ”. The two new reports are Animal Cruelty and Illegal Dumping. FWPD encourages residents to report the two offenses online whenever illegal activities are seen. The “ Online Citizen Reporting System ”, is accessible via phone, com- puter, and other electronic devices.
