HSDC Havant & South Downs Adult/Part Time Courses 2024/25

TRAVEL & FINANCIAL SUPPORT TRAVEL & FINANCIAL SUPPORT College financial support may be available if you or your household is in receipt of an income based benefit. Once an eligible benefit has been seen and approved by the Student Travel & Support Department, the college may help with: • Refund of travel costs between home and the course venue (bus, train, or mileage, up to a specified amount) • Financial assistance towards compulsory items of uniform and/or kit relating to the course (depending on the course of study, a financial contribution may be required) • Refund of Accountancy Technician (AAT) membership fees • Refund of compulsory books needed for the course • Financial assistance towards UCAS administration fees • Refund of travel expenses for up to three University visits for open days/ auditions/interviews (up to a specified amount) • Compulsory/Essential day trips or residentials that have a strong link to the curriculum criteria • Financial assistance towards childcare costs, whilst studying your course College financial assistance is a limited fund of money that offers no guaranteed right to assistance. HSDC reserves the right to change items listed based on funding available.

DISCRETIONARY FINANCIAL SUPPORT HSDC recognises that there are some circumstances where a student may be experiencing financial difficulties, but the household is not in receipt of an income based benefit. The college may be able to help with some college related costs if students are facing financial barriers to learning. Please speak to a member of the Student Travel & Support Team for further advice if you think you could benefit from this additional assistance. All discretionary applications are assessed by each individual case and appropriate evidence will need to be supplied.
