Flood plain study The counties office is willing to go halves with Hawkesbury on a flood plain study. The United Counties of Prescott-Russell council (UCPR) approved a proposal for a 50-50 split on the cost for a study on the development potential of the Christ-Roi property in Hawkesbury. The land has a flood plain hazard warn- ing attached in the UCPR Official Plan. The municipality wants to sell the property so that it can be developed for residential and\or commercial use outside of the des- ignated flood hazard area. A consultant firm has presented a study proposal that would provide suggestions and recommendations for safe and appro- priate development of the land according to both the provincial policy on land use and the official plans of both the UCPR and Hawkesbury.
