A thief lifted a computer from a Hawkes- bury residence recently, without ever setting foot in the home. July 4, Hawkes- bury Ontario Provincial Police Constables Michael Roy and Danyk Lafrance were dispatched to investigate a break and enter that occurred at a Main Street West residence. The investigation revealed that sometime between 12:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., while the owner was away, a crook stole a laptop computer that had been placed near a window. The thief took a HP notebook computer model # HPG5- 1D40CA. Anyone with information is asked to contact Roy at 613-632-2729 or 1-888-310-1122. Possession charge July 5, Constable Marc Lauzon arrested a man in possession of marijuana outside a residence on Aberdeen Street, Hawkes- bury. The man was under probation and consequently charged for breaching con- ditions of his probation order. A small amount of cannabis resin was seized from the vehicle of the accused. Nicolas Bouchard, 24, of Plantagenet was charged with possession of cannabis resin and breach of probation. 25 charges In the week of July 1 to July 8, Hawkes- bury O.P.P. officers responded to 270 occurrences and laid 25 charges. Four assaults were reported. Officers investi- gated two break and enter incidents and seven thefts.

HAWKESBURY | Police are seeking the public’s help in finding two suspects wanted for the theft of a personal water- craft in Hawkesbury. An investigation by Hawkesbury Ontario Provincial Police Constable Marc-André Desjardins found that the theft took place sometime between 4 a.m. and 5 a.m. June 29. Following the theft, which was record- ed on surveillance tape, a GMC Sierra pick– up truck left the scene with the PWC on its trailer heading westbound on Main Street East. The watercraft is a 2011 Bombardier RXT, three-seater, 260-horsepower, yellow and black, with a back tarp, hull identi- fication number YDV15255F111, licence # QC317763J. The trailer is a black 2011 Karav WCE12, vehicle identification num- ber 5KTW51417BF591211, Québec licence plate RD7249F. The suspect vehicle is a white GMC Sierra pick-up truck with a full cab, four doors, a black square on the hood near the wind- shield, with no front plate. One suspect, seen in the truck, is a man, approximately 5’, 6”, with knee-length shorts, a hoodie shirt with hood on his head. The second suspect, who was on foot, is bald and was wearing a purple long-sleeve shirt and jeans. Anyone with information about this theft is asked to contact Detective Constable Steve Hamel at 613 632-2729 or 1-888-310-1122.

The drivers of these vehicles escaped serious injuries following a truck-car collision on Highway 34 between Happy Hollow and Borris Roads north of Vankleek Hill at 12:35 p.m. Saturday. During the impact, the fuel tank of one of the vehicles burst, relates Hawkesbury Ontario Provincial Police detachment spokesperson Constable Pierre Dubois. Officials with the Ontario environment and transportation ministries were dispatched to the scene along with police, firefighters and paramedics.
