had little else to do than to go quietly alone, and take God’s blank check book signed by God’s name, “I Am That I Am,” and write in “I am guidance; I am bread.” He presented the check and God honored it. And whenever you come to live upon God’s plan as Moses from that moment did, you may absolutely trust God. —A. B. Simpson. 24. No Fear “For I am persuaded, that neither death . . . shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Rom. 8:38, 39).

And canot lie, I trust His faithful word and know that I Shall surely dwell throughout eternity With Him whose love led Him for ifie to die, E’en Christ Himself. —Selected. 20. - Life Hus Zest . “I beseech you therefore, brethren . . . that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God” (Rom. 12:1). To abandon oneself to the Lord completely, this gives zest and mean- ing to life itself. It is like, the'wind and the salt spray that stings your face as you go laughing, sailing on a rotigh sea. It is like the quietness of the early morning or the hushed stillness of the stars over giant moun tains. It is courage in the blackness of night when there are no stars. It is comradeship in a task that is hard. It is peace amid clanging tumult It is knowing Christ, the Lord Himself. —Julia Boykin, 21, Power in the Blood ■ “Without shedding of blood is no remission” (Heb. 9:22). The inspired writers attribute all the blessings of salvation to the precious blood of Jesus Christ If we have redemption, if we are justified, if we are washed from our moral stains, it is by His blood which cleans- eth us from all sin. If we Have victory over the last enemy, we obtain it not only by the word of the divine teSfimohy, but also through the blood- of the Lamb. And if we gain admit tance into heaven, it is because we have washed our robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. —R. Newton. 22. Believest Thou? “Jesus said . . . Believest thou this? , . . She saith unto Him, Yea, Lord” (John 11:25-27). Theoretically we .know that “He doeth all things well,” and that “All things Work together for good to them that love God,” but it is a triumph of faith which brings great glory to God, when, in the time of nature’s sorrow, the whole soul of the believer rejoicingly accepts the Lord’s deal ings.—J. Hudson Taylor. 23. What Are You Filling In? • “I Am That I Am” (Ex. 3:14). God gave Moses a blank, and Moses kept filling in the blank with his special need. He filled in fearlessness before Pharaoh. He filled in guidance' across the Red Sea. He filled in manna for the whole population. He filled in clear revelation at Sinai. Moses
