Children under 7 years d ictate to instructor,, who will w rite for child, if necessary, 10 sentences telling the story of Joseph’s life. Children 7 through 9 w rite in own words the story of Joseph’s life, (allowed 250 w ords). Children 10 through 12 years read chapters named above and w rite the story of Joseph’s life telling in w hat ways you th in k he was like Jjesus (allowed 300 w ords). Group 3 (ages 13 through 15) read the follow­ ing chapters and use th e outline given below as a basis for a story o£ the sub­ ject “ Joseph a Type (P ictu re) of Christ” (allowed 350 . words,). A TRUE M ISSIONARY STOR Y By Sophie Shaw Meader Chapter Three A BETTER FROM AMERICA The early morning sun peeping in­ to the window of a little cottage in the mission compound lighted up the room where two figures, Rosemary and h er mother, k n elt a t th e ir devo­ tions. The low sweet voice of the girl lift­ ed in prayer seemed to float upward on the golden beams of sunlight to- the very throne of God. “Our F a th e r,” she said, “ our h earts are overflowing w ith praise to Thee th a t -Thou hast brought us to this heathen country, for we are so glad to tell these poor idol-worshippers of the one tru e God. We are determ ined never to forsake these people, b u t to continue our work. Therefore we are asking th a t Thou w ilt send us, if it is Thy will, the money w ith which to buy a mule so th a t we may extend our work to other villages.” As th e girl paused, her mother add­ ed, “Thou h ast promised to do abun­ dantly above- all th a t we ask, so we feel sure th a t not only will the needed money be provided, but th a t a harness and cart will also be supplied.” The prayers were ended. It was nearly noon. Suddenly the air seemed to fairly quiver w ith a most sta rtlin g sound. “Mother,” ; breathed Rosemary, “what is th a t? ” Í Again th e a ir was re n t w ith the penetrating no |es of an animal as if in distress. H astening to the door, they ob­ served a thick wall of dust moving rapidly towards them . In a moment a gust of wind parted th e apparent wall, and Rosemary was greeted w ith the farhiliar song of her old friend,- th e mule, “E-ah-a-a-a! E -ah-a-a-a!” The Chinese helpers th en came driv­ ing into th e yard. As they were tell­ ing of th eir morning’s adventure, the gatem an entered and handed Mrs. Foulke a le tte r bearing an American stamp. W ith fingers which trem bled sligh t­ ly, Mrs. Foulke opened the le tte r and
