The Canada Infrastructure Bank is also assessing opportunities to partner with pri- vate investors in order to expand broadband coverage.

Rural communities have long been underserved when it comes to high- speed internet, but that will change with more than $300 million in confirmed federal-provincial funding aid for the Eastern Ontario region. “Access to high-speed internet will create jobs, improve health and safety for all, and help bridge the rural-urban divide,” stated Maryam Monsef, minister for women and gender equality and rural economic deve- lopment. “The pandemic added urgency to this work, and the Government of Canada responded with the Universal Broadband Fund.” An investment of $362 million was announced during a visit to Russell Township on August 6, brought forward jointly by the go- vernments of Canada and Ontario as part of UIF*NQSPWJOH$POOFDUJWJUZGPS0OUBSJP *$0/ program, to bring high-speed internet to IPVTFIPMETJO&BTUFSO0OUBSJP5IF announcement was made by Monsef, Kinga Surma, Ontario’s infrastructure minister,

Des centaines de tracteurs antiques paraderont ce samedi 14 août sur un parcours de 15 kilomètres, en partance du village de St-Albert en direction ouest vers Crysler, pour la deuxième année consécutive. L’organisateur, François Latour, est un SÊTJEFOUE&NCSVOFUQSÊTJEFOUEV7JOUBHF *SPO 5SBEJUJPOT &BTUFSO 0OUBSJP EFQVJT deux ans. Il est également l’organisateur EV(VJOFTT8PSME3FDPSEEVQMVTEFNPJT - sonneuses batteuses machines agricoles opérant en même temps durant cinq minutes de St-Albert en août 2019. L’an dernier, en raison de la pandémie et des mesures sanitaires, celui-ci a répondu au besoin des gens de vouloir se rencontrer en organisant une parade pour qu’ils puissent se voir et pour que les citoyens puissent avoir un peu d’action dans leur communauté. Une centaine de tracteurs avaient défilé en août dernier. M. Latour s’attend à ce que le même nombre de participants s’inscrivent cette année et même plus.
Lui-même possède plusieurs tracteurs et souhaite que de nouveaux membres joignent le club. Il est toujours possible de participer à la parade. Il n’y a qu’à se présenter au Centre communautaire, 201 rue Main Street St-Albert, le 14 août à 10h. « S’il fait beau, ça va être un succès.
