Integrating behavioral healthcare with housing is vital. Supportive housing plays an essential role in meeting the needs of people experiencing lengthy episodes of homelessness and complex barriers to housing stability. This session highlights how combining tenancy support services with housing financial assistance dramatically improves tenant outcomes. Evan Caster has over 15 years of experience leading local and state efforts to resolve episodes of homelessness. Prior to joining DOH, he served as the Director of Homelessness Initiatives for the Colorado Department of Human Services, leading efforts to prevent episodes of homelessness and supporting Coloradans facing housing insecurity. Tyler Jaeckel, JD, MPP has over 20 years of experience in housing policy, program development, and financing at the local, state, and federal levels. Prior to joining DOH, he was Chief of the Office of Federal Funds and Strategic Initiatives for Governor Jared Polis, where he oversaw housing programs and federal stimulus investments. #404 | Community Engagement from Assessment to Presence Community engagement is a mix of intuition and intentionality; but how do you engage with both of these when the world feels like it is spinning faster and faster? Biko Bloom-Fisher, MS is the Engagement Manager at WellPower, responsible for overseeing WellPower’s community engagement, partnerships, internal employee engagement, and volunteerism. Biko received his Bachelor’s in Communication from the University of Colorado, and received his Master’s of Science in Counseling and Educational Leadership from Mississippi State University. Biko primarily worked in higher education supporting students in crisis, DEI programming, and student leadership development before transitioning to work at WellPower in 2023 is the Engagement Manager at WellPower, responsible for overseeing WellPower’s community engagement, partnerships, internal employee engagement, and volunteerism.
