It only feels right to help contribute to the generational links that make College the unique institution it is.” Meanwhile, Reuben shared with the boys the importance of quickly recognising the value of a product and having the ability to turn a vision into a better reality while Thomas spoke about his different paths to success and the integral role of “leaning into your strengths and developing creative confidence” to help transform businesses. Property developer Oliver Hickman, sustainable homes specialist Marty Murchison, Winemaker of the Year Nicholas Brown, communications specialist Hayden Cox, and law (Hons) and political science graduate Nuku Tau all took the time to share their journeys with those students following in their College footsteps.

Sellars says that with all the disruption of the past few years, “we want to open the boys’ eyes to all the positive opportunities that lie ahead”, including on-site experiences with local tertiary providers. “We realised that we needed to create a new entry point for our Year 11 students so that they would start to weigh up their options and consider the skills they needed to get where they wanted to go,” he says. “By bringing in Old Boys and College parents to talk to the boys about their own career journeys, we knew it was the best option to highlight the importance of passion, connection, and experimentation in finding their role through the genuine experiences of others.” Corfe House student Jackson Garry believes that having younger Old Boys come into

what we are now doing, and learn what they have then done in their careers and that they have been successful,” he says. “Personally, it was good to hear from some younger guys who have been in business – hearing them talk about their careers and how they feel about what they do.” Focusing on learning from the “wisdom of our community”, several younger Old Boys returned to Christ’s College to share their experience and insight, including Smudge co-founder – and technology entrepreneur – Reuben Bijl, innovator Thomas Nye, and accountant Jared Chin. “I enjoyed my time speaking with the Year 11 students at the Finding Your Pathway day at College,” Jared says. “Having recently graduated university and entered into the workforce, I provided insight and advice on university life. It was an opportunity to pass
