SWIM TEST Cost: $10 Age: 4 years and up Location: RCN

INFANTS & WATER Aquatic programs for infants are available at the Recreation Center & Natatorium by two independent contractors. This is not a learn-to-swim program. The objective of these programs is to provide infants with skills to remain safe in aquatic environments. The minimum age for this class is 6 months. For those interested in registering with Infant Aquatics email ashleygoolsby@gmail.com . For those interested in registering with Infant Swimming Resource with its Self-Rescue™ program contact m.kerlegan@infantswim.com .

Do you need to know what swim lesson level to enroll your child? Do you need a specific swim card to go to camp? Each participant will be evaluated based on the American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim exit skills assessments for the level being tested. The highest- level certificate will be awarded upon successful completion. After the test, participants will be grouped and tested for specific swim skills required by various camps.

This level continues laying the foundation for water competency and further skill development. Preschool Aquatics Level 2 marks the beginning of independent aquatic locomotion skills. Children continue to explore using simultaneous and alternating arm and leg actions on the front and back to gain greater proficiency in preparation for performing strokes. Classes consist of eight 25 minute lessons. Preschool Aquatics Level 3 In Preschool Aquatics Level 3, our instructors follow a plan to introduce new swimming and water safety skills that are developmentally - appropriate for young children and help further your child’s development of water competency. Preschool Aquatics puts the fun in fundamentals. Each class is loaded with enjoyable, engaging and challenging activities that motivate children to want to perform and learn to swim. All Preschool Level 3 skills are performed independently. Classes consist of eight 25 minute lessons.

Age: 9 months - 4 years Location: RCN The Water Babies program allows parents to participate with their child for an individual introduction to water exploration and water safety. A parent or trusted adult per child is required in each class. Classes consist of eight 25 minute lessons. The classes familiarize young children with the water and prepare them for American Red Cross Preschool Aquatics or Learn to Swim courses. The course is not intended to teach children to become good swimmers or to survive in the water on their own.
