Sire of lots 5140, 5148 On a trip up to visit Voss’ I had seen End Run and his full sister as weaned calves in the fall of 2016. End Run was kind of another bull in what was a strong contemporary group, but his sister was an absolute knockout in her group. She was feminine, soft, and beautiful. They are full sibs to Horse Butte 7013 of 1116 who has been so influential at McNamee’s in Miles City. I was the contending bidder on 7013 when he sold in 2008. On another trip up there, I had seen their dam, 0133, who really left an impression on me. She was moderate, ultra feminine, wedge shaped, and had the longest, neatest looking hip I maybe have ever seen on a cow. She was very unique and useful cow. Anyways, all this gets stuck in my head and several years later I ask Dennis about End Run. Dennis tells me he’s one of the most, if not THE most athletic bull who’s ever ran on the butte and that I can take him when his work is done up there. We ended up with him in 2023 as a seven year old bull and he worked that season and the 2024 season for us. His daughters here look

The Sheepeaters, a poorer tribe who were double tough survivors in a very harsh land. They foraged on much of the same country these cows do. Tukudika’s dam was offered up by my good fried Dennis Voss for us to flush in hopes of gaining another useful cow family to work with. Her lineage is straight Murray Corbin, Tail N Emulous breeding. She had crossed well with Dennis and Erica’s Horse Butte genetics, so he thought naturally she ought to work well for us here. She was a wells structured cow, who was sturdy, quiet in disposition, and productive. Tukudika is also sturdy with a quiet disposition. He has matured into quite a specimen just like his sire. His daughters look very promising as they’re coming into production, and yes I think Dennis was right, they are working very well for us thus far. These young Tukudika daughters are quiet, sturdy, and look like they’ll be productive. Bred and owned by Loyning Angus
similar to that full sister that got so stuck in my brain. Bred and proudly co-owned with Horse Butte Ranch.

+11 -2.3 +13 +27 -.38 +12 +23 -.33 Sire of lots 509, 523, 541, 554, 596, 5123, 5196, 5208 We retained this bull in 2023 to go into our heifer breeding mob. What a job he did! He bred far more than his share and his calves all came unassisted. 248’s dam, 6003, thrives in our environment. She is always in just the right shape no matter the season. Never too fat and never too thin in appearance. She’s moderate but not small and there is some dimension to her. Her foot and udder quality is impeccable. She produces right in the average and has never needed assistance in any way. She stays mothered and would much rather be in the lead than in the drag. A pretty, useful, and enjoyable kind to be around. 248 is similar to his sire, Johnny X, in phenotype, but I think he is just a bit more handsome that the old man. His calves are very consistent. The bulls are masculine, moderate, clean made, calving ease bulls. The heifers are feminine, moderate, clean patterned, fancy uddered little range cows in the making. Bred and owned by Loyning Angus
3116 is the cow we try to intensify most in our program. She is maternal finesse. Thanks Dennis and Erica Voss for sharing her influence.
