Wrestle a Gator for 10 Bucks … AND OTHER ORLANDO EXPERIENCES

Have you ever wanted to yell “Crikey!” while wrasslin’ an 8-foot alligator? If so, you need to check out Gatorland, where you can have a “rookie wrestling” experience with an alligator for just $10. They’ll even take your photo! It’s less dangerous than it sounds, but if climbing into a pit with a prehistoric reptile isn’t for you, Gatorland also offers tours, zip lines, and other fun attractions for the whole family. Orlando is home to all kinds of wacky things to do. Best of all, most of them won’t break the bank. Why not take the swan boats out on Lake Eola? It’s a great way to spend the afternoon, and for $15, you can be out on the lake with your family, friends, or that special someone, in a swan boat of your very own. While you’re there,

take a stroll through the park, check out the fountains, and peek in the windows of the historic Lake Eola House, a home built in 1924 in the Mediterranean style. Finally, if you don’t mind heading a bit out of town, there’s a lot to explore outside. Wekiva Park is close by, and it’s a great place to swim. It’s also not too late to check out the bioluminescent lagoon after dark at Puerto Mosquito. Just be sure to bring the bug spray — they really aren’t kidding about the mosquitos. Last but not least, Black Hammock Airboat Rides up near Lake Jesup will give you a tour of the lake for about $25, and there’s also the option to eat, drink, and see more alligators.

Because who doesn’t like seeing alligators?
