21) The participants can take responsibility to independently ensure that personnel affected by noise use proper hearing protection to mitigate short- and long-term injuries from noise exposure (Ability, intermediate level)
Element 2.2 can be omitted from the training if this standard is delivered in conjunction with the GWO Basic Technical Training Mechanical Module

The instructor shall:
Ask open ended questions about the key learnings from the BTT mechanical, including:
a.
bolt types and condition
b. documentation, as described in section 6.4 of this BTT standard: Handouts
c.
PPE
d.
planning, carrying out and completion of tasks
e.
torque
f.
tension
g. importance of lubrication – when and when not to lubricate
h.
tightening and loosening
i.
manuals and instructions
j. safety and risk prevention to mitigate injuries such as:

eye injuries
j.ii
pinching
j.iii abrasion
j.iv entanglement
j.v
cuts
j.vi crushing
j.vii hand arm vibration syndrome (HAVS)
j.viii chemical reactions or allergies
