Based on the scenario documents, facilitate activities where participants are required to correctly pressurise and depressurise hydraulic equipment according to the equipment manuals, including correct communication and body positioning in relation to equipment to avoid injury from failing components and hydraulic injection

Continuously assess participant engagement and learning by actively asking participants to share their understandings and reflect on their actions and considerations

Provide tooling documentation and visual examples for participants to identify pressure settings and instructions for safe tool use

Provide feedback to the participants and provide further information where relevant

Provide participants with instruction, guidance and feedback as required to ensure that learning objectives are met

The participants shall:

Complete the scenario-based activities to specification

In pairs, find the pressure settings for different air powered tools from the relevant manufacturers document

Discuss potential risks and hazards from using air handheld tools

Share understandings and considerations with instructors and other participants

Take responsibility for their learning by seeking guidance and clarification when in doubt

ELEMENT 5.2 - BOLT TORQUING

Learning objective:

63) The participants can act independently to, safely and correctly, torque bolts using at least two different toques settings with electric and hydraulic torquing tools and accessories (Ability, intermediate level)

64) The participants can take responsibility for always tightening bolts and screws correctly (Ability, intermediate level)
