The participants shall:

Practise assessing, leading, assisting, and providing the necessary first aid in an incident through relevant scenarios according to the instructions given

Considerations for preparing scenario-based training

This scenario-based training shall be conducted as group work with one or more participants acting as enhanced first aiders, while the other participants act as casualty/casualties or observer(s). Each participant shall, as a minimum, act as the lead enhanced first aider at least once Relevant basic and enhanced first aid equipment shall be available and used at all times during scenario-based training To ensure that all the above mentioned points are covered during scenario-based training, training providers shall combine several of the following first aid situations mentioned below. At least one scenario must be based on an electrical incident. As far as possible scenario should reflect common working environment and incidents e.g. WTG, dropped objects, fall from heights

Examples of scenarios:

a.

catastrophic external bleeding

b.

obstructed airway

c.

unresponsive with normal breathing

d. unresponsive, not breathing – CPR, basic life support and AED

e.

serious breathing problem e.g. asthma, chest injuries

f. serious internal/external bleeding e.g. amputation, crush injuries

g.

shock, including anaphylactic shock

h.

fractures e.g. pelvis, open fractures

i.

heart attack

j.

stroke (CVA)

k.

serious burns

l.

serious electrical incidents
