Department Initiatives

New East Division Patrol Commander Monica Martin was promoted to East Patrol Commander and began serving in her new role in April. Commander Martin has been with the Fort Worth Police Department for 17 years. The East Division encom- passes portions of Council Districts 4, 8 and the majority of Council District 5. Neighborhoods include Poly, Stop Six, West Meadowbrook, Central Meadowbrook, Eastern Hills, Carver Heights, and others. Recruit Class #151

Congratulations to the graduates of Recruit Class 151 for a job well done. On May 6, Recruit Class 151 graduated from the FWPD Academy, putting 40 new officers on the streets of Fort Worth. The recruits have been assigned to patrol divisions to begin phase one of their field training.

Civilian Response Unit Graduation Congratulations to the eight new members of the Civilian Response Unit (CRU) who graduated on April 8. The group of men and women completed six weeks of training provided by Fort Worth Police Academy Staff and subject matter experts. The classes included US/TX Constitution, Radio Communication, Driver Safety, Body Worn Camera, Texas Penal Code, Anti - Bias Training, Report Writing Concepts and Interviewing. The new CRU Specialists also participated in training dedicated to scenario performance evaluations with sworn officers as the CRU evaluators.

Telecommunications Academy Class #3

On June 17, the FWPD Communication ’ s Division welcomed a new group of individuals who passed all requirements to become part of the department ’ s telecommunications team. Congratulations to all and welcome to the communications team!
