FWPD Officer Honored with Medal of Valor

Officer Sergio Dominguez received the Medal of Valor at the 2022 State of Texas Law Enforcement Achievement Awards. Officer Dominguez received the award for his actions in pursing and terminating a homicidal threat on December 19, 2018. The award honors Officer Dominguez ’ s actions as an example of the highest degree of heroism and valor. Congratulations Officer Dominguez!

Community Events FWPD hosted and attended multiple community events throughout Fort Worth during the past quarter. FWPD partnered with community leaders and businesses to provide residents an opportunity to gather safe- ly and meet one another. Events included the FWPD Community Safety Partnership Summer Camp kickoff, Metro Carter Park Shoe Giveaway, and the Opal Lee Walk of Freedom.

Technology Expansion

On April 26, the City of Fort Worth approved a twelve - year agreement with Axon Enterprises to expand the police department ’ s technology capabilities. The technology expansion will be a mix of new software and hardware for the department to utilize including performance audit software, license plate reader cameras, automatic camera activation, drones, and improvements to interview rooms.
