Maintaining strong transportation connections between these hubs and the broader region is essen- tial for fostering continued economic growth and ensuring that Fort Worth remains a central player in the regional and national transpor- tation networks. The diverse conditions across Fort Worth create a range of oppor- tunities for enhancing the transportation network. Downtown Fort Worth, with its high-density development, offers the chance to strengthen multimodal options and improve congestion manage- ment to support its vibrant economic and cultural activities. The rapidly expanding fringe areas present opportunities to enhance connectivity by extending roadways and public transit services, accommodating growing populations while integrating with the urban core. In the ETJ, the Planned Service Areas are a tool to proactively plan infrastructure upgrades that effectively integrate with the broader transportation network. Overall, these varied condi- tions allow for targeted improvements that can enhance mobility, support economic development, and foster balanced growth across the entire region. 51
