Fort Worth’s roadway network ranks as one of the largest in Texas. This extensive infrastructure supports the city’s role as a transportation and logistics hub, but also comes with a considerable responsibility for maintenance and upgrades to keep pace with usage and growth.
Fort Worth is second only to San Antonio in interstate lane miles and has the most principal arterial miles of the group. When it comes to freeways, it has fewer than both Austin and San Antonio. Compared to its Texas counterparts, Fort Worth has fewer minor arterial miles and comparable major collector miles.
