2.3 HUMAN COMFORT GOAL: Create a network that is convenient, connected, environmentally considerate, and empowers everyone with the freedom to choose their preferred way of travel. Transportation should be about choices, efficiency and comfort. We’re focused on easing congestion, keeping traffic flowing smoothly, enhancing alternatives like biking and transit, and improving connections throughout the city. We also want to improve air quality to create a healthier and more comfortable place to live. Congestion
Traffic congestion affects more than just our schedules—it has a direct impact on our comfort and quality of life. Long, frustrating commutes and frequent delays make it harder to get where we need to go, adding stress to our day and taking time away from family, hobbies, and relaxation. For many, congestion means less time for the things that matter most, whether it’s picking up kids on time,
enjoying outdoor spaces, or connecting with friends. The constant noise and pollution from heavy traffic can also make our neigh - borhoods feel less peaceful and even affect our health. That’s why finding ways to reduce congestion is a top priority for Fort Worth residents, who want a city where getting around is easier, healthier, and more enjoyable.
