Master Transportation Plan Task 4: Gap Analysis and Needs Network
first/last-mile connections. Specifically, block groups falling within the half-mile or 1-mile walksheds were flagged as potential transit gaps. Areas beyond the one-mile threshold were designated as "zero transit access" zones. To refine the gap analysis, walkshed boundaries were clipped to block group geometries. The resulting gap areas were assessed based on the number of key destinations they contained. Each area received a base score equal to the number of destinations present, plus an additional point if the area was located within a transit-supportive block group. For example, a gap area with six destinations located in a high- density zone received a total score of seven. Table 6. Accessibility Gap Score Classifications Score Priority <=3 Low 4-5 Medim 6-11 High Gap scores were then classified using a natural breaks method and categorized as low, medium, or high priority, as shown in Table 6 . These classifications were used to identify and prioritize areas for potential transit service expansion or improvement.
