The eastbound approach operates at LOS F by 2050, with substantial delays driven by high left-turn and right-turn volumes from Chapin Road onto Chapel Creek Blvd. These operational issues are expected to worsen without additional control or geometric improvements. 4.2.3 Build Alternatives A set of build alternatives was developed and tested for the 2050 build scenario under signalized control, focusing on improving eastbound and northbound operations where the most critical delays occur. The results of the analysis are summarized in Table 8. The signalized alternatives improve delay and queuing performance compared to the TWSC configuration, particularly for eastbound and northbound approaches. Signalization combined with northbound dual left-turn lanes provides the most balanced operational outcome under 2050 traffic volumes, effectively reducing eastbound delay while supporting long-term mobility needs within the corridor.
