5.2.2.2 West 7th / Cultural District to Downtown and Panther Island / Stockyards Access between the Cultural District, Downtown, and Panther Island is constrained by limited river crossings and rail congestion. Solutions focus on adding new river and rail crossings, reconfiguring or extending roadways, and introducing dedicated transit corridors. These improvements aim to relieve pressure on West 7th Street while providing multimodal options for residents and visitors. 5.2.2.3 Downtown Access Downtown Fort Worth faces operational challenges at key intersections such as Henderson and Belknap/Weatherford, impacting safety and travel times. Proposed improvements include reconfiguring these gateways, creating a multi-modal transit mall, and pedestrianizing Main Street to enhance walkability. A central transit hub and upgraded public spaces would support high-capacity transit and foster a vibrant urban core. 5.2.2.4 Butler Place & United Riverside Enhancing access to Butler Place and United Riverside involves right-sizing regional connections and creating multimodal gateways to the Trinity River. Potential projects include reconstructing roadways into multimodal boulevards, adding bridges or tunnels for improved connectivity, and developing riverfront gateways to strengthen neighborhood integration with open spaces. 5.2.3 CtC Projects Five projects were prioritized for inclusion in the long-term plan, as illustrated in Figure 9 and summarized in Table 4. These were selected in collaboration with stakeholders, based on their scope and were coded into the travel demand model network to assess their potential impact under future conditions.
