8.3 Future Scenario #1 (AOS)
Figures 22, 23, and 24 illustrate the AM, PM, and daily traffic volumes on the network for Scenario 1. Compared to the Baseline scenario, traffic volumes increase primarily in the city Core due to the redistribution of population and jobs towards that area. Figure 25 and Figure 26 present the AM and PM V/C ratios for Scenario 1. The V/C ratio increases on I-35W, I-820, SH 183, SH121, SH199, US287, US377 especially in PM. Several facilities within the Core also experience higher congestion in Scenario 1, which is expected due to the increased activity in that area. These trends overall show that not only is activity increasing inside the Core, but it also attracts some trips from the nearby suburbs, possibly due to the influx of jobs in the Core.
