8.4 Future Scenario #2 (AOS + M1M) Figure 28 and Figure 29 present AM and PM volumes for Scenario 2. The new links added to the network from the M1M gap analysis (discussed in Section 5.1) show added volumes to the network. These projects improve connectivity and address network gaps, resulting in a more balanced distribution of traffic. Figure 30 shows the daily volumes for Scenario 2, indicating that most major freeways and principal arterials experience higher volumes, reflecting an influx of trips due to the added connections from the projects. Facilities such as I-35W, I-820, I-20, I-30, SH114, SH121, and SH183 show notable increases in traffic. Figure 31 and Figure 32 show AM and PM V/C for Scenario 2. The added projects improve connectivity and address network gaps, providing relief by distributing volumes more evenly around the network, particularly near the western section of I-30 and along portions of FM1220, SH 199, SH114, and US287. However, roadways near I-820 in Saginaw continue to exhibit high V/C ratios in Scenario 2, indicating the need for further improvements.
