King's Business - 1958-01

Regulation of Gifts 1. What is the real end in view in the assembly of the saints? (14:26.) 2. Note the regulations laid down by the Apostle regarding the use of tongues in the church (w . 27-35.) Observe: 1) no more than three in any one service; 2) the speaking must be done in order, not all at the same time; 3) there must be a recognized interpreter present (v. 28.) 3. Note the regulations regarding prophecy (preaching) in verses 29-32. 4. How does Paxil warn against noisy unruly meetings? (v. 33.) Cf. verse 40. 5. Are women supposed to speak in tongues and preach in the assembly of the saints? (vv. 34, 35.) 6. How does Paul indicate that the Corinthians were seeking to become a law unto themselves in this matter? (w . 36, 37.) The Gospel of Christ 1. With what subject does Paul deal in 1 Corinthians 15? 2. What is the very heart of the gospel? (w . 3 ,4.) 3. How does Paul prove the resur rection? (w . 5-11.) 4. What woxild be the terrible con sequences if Christ had not risen from the dead? (w . 12-19.) 5. What is the meaning of the term “ firstfruits” with regard to the resur rection of Christ? (v. 20.) 6. How sure is the resurrection of all men? (w . 21,22.) 7. What is the order of the resur rections? You will note several resur rections in w . 23, 24. Refer to Revela tion 20 in this regard and note how wonderfully harmonious is the pro phetic Word of God. It is after the kingdom of Christ that the resurrec tion of the wicked takes place as is indicated in 1 Corinthians 15:23,24. Our Resurrection Bodies 1. How would you interpret verse 29? There are many views of this Scripture but the one that appeals to many is, not that baptism by proxy is taught here, but baptism in the place of another; that is, new converts are taking the places in the ranks of be lievers of those who have died. 2. What might well be the attitude of even believers if after all, the dead rise not? (v. 32.) 3. Contrast the resurrection body with the present body as Paul does in verses 35-49. 4. Why this transformation and re markable change? (v. 50.) (T o be continued next month.)

Capetown — capital city of the Union of South Africa —colorful metrop olis divided into white, black, coloured and Indian districts — has enthusiastically welcomed the Pocket Testament League. PTL has mobilized men and gospels in an all-out effort to reach its polyglot population.

PTL teams have received the support of city and school officials to hold giant Gospel rallies in the streets and schools and in 4 great stadi ums of Capetown.

The Capetown Campaign Goal is to preach the Gospel and distribute Scripture portions to everyone — black, white, coloured and Indian.

You are invited and urged to participate in this your personal support of PTL. Your help is needed.

Wheaton Annuity Contracts yield a high rate of return (up to 8.6%, depending on your age) and assure you of a fixed income for life. Unlike stock dividends, these returns never vary regardless of world conditions—and the College has never failed to meet annuity pay ments when due. The Wheaton Life Investment Plan is highly regarded by people in all walks of life, because a conservative business administration re flects the same dependability which has characterized the spiritual and educational service of the school since 1860. Annuity Contracts may be purchased in multiples of $100 on a Single Life or Survivorship basis. No records to keep, no coupons to clip, and no expense beyond the original investment. And in addition to the generous financial benefits —you have the priceless and eternal satisfaction of knowing that you have made an investment “ For Christ and His Kingdom”—that you are having an active share in the training of young people for Christian life and service. Write today for the free booklet, Pleasant Tomorrows, which explains in detail the Annuity Plan and gives an interesting word-and-picture story of Wheaton College.
