By every known te st of greatness we affirm th a t our Lord Jesus Christ was really great. , 3 . “The T ru e God” (1 John 5 :2 0 ). In th e course of H is m inistry our Lord said, “ I am th e T ru th ” (John 1 4 :6 ). As a m a tte r of fact He was th e personifica tion of T ruth. 4. “My Lord and my God” (Jo h n 20: 28 ). Thomas was no t inclined to assent to ano th er’s testimony, b u t m ust see for himself. To his cred it le t it be re corded th a t as soon as he saw he had only one rem a rk to make, and th a t in these noble words, “My Lord, an d my God.” As a resu lt of these we pass on th e comment of th e M aster: “ Blessed are they th a t have no t seen, and yet have believed” (John 2 0 :2 9 ).
