Chanhassen’s adaptive recreation program is a cooperative effort between the City of Chanhassen and Reach for Resources, an organization dedicated to providing programs designed for individuals with disabilities. Adaptive programming for adults runs throughout the year and includes sports leagues, art classes, special events, support groups and more. Inclusion support is provided at no cost to any child or adult participating in a Chanhassen Parks & Recreation program. Program Scholarships The City of Chanhassen offers a scholarship program that provides financial assistance to participants in our recreation programs. Building Community The library and the Chanhassen Communities of Belonging partner will present informational events at 10 a.m. on Sats., May 9, June 13 and July 11. Visit our calendar for program topics. Also, register for monthly mandala painting on Mons., May 11, June 8 and July 13. Great Decisions Join us for a presentation followed by a discussion on foreign policy topics. Programs start at 6 p.m. on Mons., May 4, May 18, June 15, June 29 and July 20. Check our calendar for program topics and to register. Craft Supplies Swap The Friends of the Chanhassen Library’s annual Craft Supplies Swap returns. Donations are accepted during normal library hours from Sat., May 9 through Thu., May 14. Those who donate receive a free pass for early entrance to Pick-up Day on Sat., May 16 at 10 a.m. Those who did not donate will be admitted 12–5 p.m. Sat. and 1–4 p.m. on Sun.

Summer Reading Program

Carver County Library Storytimes Storytimes are an early literacy experience where we sing, play, write, talk and read together. Summer storytimes are Monday (Toddler) and Wednesday (Family) at 10:30 a.m., beginning June 8. No storytimes/programming the week of June 29.

We encourage youth to “Plant a Seed, Read” by reading, then earning chances to win prizes such as books and passes to local events. See performers at 11 a.m. on Tues., June 16, June 23 and July 28. Other programs include visits from the Bakken

Museum and the Works Museum, a Stuffed Animal
