two sides, the inner and the outer, the theo retical and the practical. . . . There is the inner side which is creed, and the outer, which is experience. Unfortunately, human nature is prone to divorce the one from the other, and to set them off against one another as opposing sides.” The author has fulfilled his intention to harmonize Christian experience with the Word. Large, readable type is used. A full- page poem on an appropriate theme pre cedes each chapter. 133 pages. Pickering & Inglis. Cloth. Price 75 cents. Story Poems for Children B y L ouise M. O glevee This volume of more than one hundred poems is distinctly for children o f the pri mary and junior ages. “There are Bible stories, jolly stories, patriotic and world friendship stories, with others for each special day o f the year.” It has been pre pared and printed with the child himself in mind, having large readable type, attractive illustrations on nearly every page, with poems that are easily read and easily mem orized. Its definitions are terse, clear, and accurate. It is comprehensive in its scope, for it includes all o f the fun damental doctrines o f Scripture. It is strict without being harshly dogmatic, and exact without being pedantic. It is a handy compendium of theology for laymen and Christian workers alike. 84 pages. Stanton Bros., Ltd. Dunedin, N. Z. Paper. Price 25 cents. Studies in the Epistle to the Hebrews B y G eorge H enderson As the title indicates, this is not a com mentary on Hebrews, but a series o f out line studies. It is an excellent little hand book to study with the open Bible. The outlines are clear; the exposition is brief and pointed; the teaching is simple and practical. Difficult passages are explained sanely and satisfactorily. It is a good in troduction to the. analytic study o f Hebrews. 128 pages. G. F. Vallance. Cloth. Price $1.00.

C oombe H arris The story opens with a scene in a board ing school just at the close of the semester. Three graduates are discussing what to do with their gift of life and how to find hap piness. Butterfly Monica will seek happi ness in fun and having a gay time; ambi tious Lois will seek it in fame; but quiet Ruth hesitatingly announces that she will find her happiness in doing the will o f God. The girls part and go to their separate homes. The book shows where each choice leads the girls, and how all eventually come to see that Ruth has chosen the real road to the attainment of the desired goal, although hers is a life of more outward difficulties than those o f the other two. 253 pages. Pickering & Inglis. Cloth. Price $1.00. Life Indeed B y J.
