LEGEND ICON Thourghout our catalogue, you will see these icons on the product sell sheets. These icons help to quickly identify specific product garment attributes such as CAT Protection, CSA Z96 Class Ratings, UL Compliance, CUSMA and other manufacturing quality standards. CAT PROTECTION CAT stands for Hazard Risk Category measured in ATPV ( Arc Thermal Protecion Value) and it is how much heat the fabric withstands in testing. It indicates the respective hazard/risk category (HRC) associated with each task.

Garment has an ATPV between 4-7 cal/cm2 Garment has an ATPV between 25-39 cal/cm2

Garment has an ATPV between 8-24 cal/cm2

Garment has an ATPV of 40 cal/cm2 or more

CSA Z96 CLASS RATING

CSA Standard Z96-15 (R2020) , High-Visibility Safety Apparel sets out levels of retroreflective performance, the colors and luminosity of background materials, and how much of the body that should be covered by the high-visibility components.

CSA Z96 CLASS 1 LEVEL FR

Lowest body coverage and good visibility. Garment must have, at minimum, reflective stripes on the shoulders and around the waist. Other Class 1 FR garments can be a top made of non-hi-vis material with hi-vis or reflective stripes Moderate body coverage and better visibility. Garment must cover the entire upper torso and be made of background material coloured flourescent red, green or orange. Stripes must be of retroreflective or combined performance materials.

CSA Z96

CLASS 2 LEVEL 2

CSA Z96

Substantial body coverage and best visibility. Garment combines Class 2 requirements with the addition of stripes around the arms and legs.

CLASS 3 LEVEL 2

This certification applies to many of our FR garments showing that they have been tested and evaluated to the requirements of NFPA 2112-2018. Having UL Garment Certification gives our customers piece of mind that the safety clothes they are wearing actually do what we claim it does. To be able to claim this standard, a company must go through rigorous examination, testing and follow up surveillance of their manufacturing capabilities and processes.

CUSMA refers to the Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement that serves to reinforce Canada’s economic ties to the US & Mexico. Oeko-Tex textiles and fabrics are certified free of harmful chemicals and are safe for human use. To attain Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certification, the fabric has been tested and certified to be free from harmful levels of more than 100 substances known to be harmful to human health.

We have added 1% carbon to our Westex ® DH and 2% carbon to some of our Nomex ® Essential products to reduce or eliminate build up of static electricity.
